Before we revel in all the craziness of Leicester City–a 5000/1 underdog–winning the Premier League title, let me set the stage.

With Leicester notching a draw on Sunday at Manchester United, Tottenham needed to beat Chelsea Monday night in order to keep pace in the title race.

In the first half of Monday night’s game at Stamford Bridge, Tottenham were in the ascendance clutching a 2-0 lead heading into the break. In the second half the game both sides got chippy and Tottenham lost their heads a bit, while Chelsea came out of the halftime break flying.

With about 8 minutes remaining and Chelsea having pulled the lead back to 2-1, Eden Hazard burst onto the scene in support of Leicester City’s cause.

Tottenham looked so defeated after giving up this 2-0 lead, and they couldn’t muster a game-winning goal.

LEICESTER BECAME THE CHAMPIONS!!!

A bunch of the players joined for a watch party at Jamie Vardy’s house and they weren’t disappointed.

The scenes in the city of Leicester Monday night were glorious, and I’m sure the whole city called out of work today. Leicester have their last home game of the season this Saturday against Everton, which should be a spectacle for the ages.
