I’m not going to lie to you guys. I don’t know much about tennis. But in the same way fringe golf fans watch the Masters, fair-weather tennis fans have to watch Wimbledon.
The tournament has a certain juneau se qua of eliteness and royalty that no other tennis major has. So most of the time players are on their best behavior at the All England Club. On Thursday, Viktor Troicki wasn’t one of them.
The Serbian, ranked 27th in the world, crashed out of Wimbledon Thursday but he didn’t leave the tournament quietly.
Troicki unleashed an embarrassing verbal lashing of the chair umpire, which came off as whiny and immature.
I despise athletes who lose and then place all the blame on the referee or umpire. Troicki acted like he had nothing to do with his second round loss.
