Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager and Detroit Tigers pitcher Michael Fulmer are your 2016 NL and AL Rookie of the Year award winners.

Seager was the unanimous pick in the NL, beating out teammate Kenta Maeada and Washington Nationals phenom Trea Turner. As for Fulmer, he beat out New York Yankees slugger Gary Sanchez in what was undoubtedly a toss-up.

Everyone and their mother knew Seager was the obvious choice in the NL. However, I actually thought Sanchez’s unbelievable two-month stretch would be enough to sway voters. I picked Fulmer as the guy who should win it, but I definitely didn’t expect voters to feel the same way. Good on them for getting this one right.

That being said, Sanchez is going to be awesome to watch for a long time. Not to mention he seems like a class act.

I don’t know what the hashtag #IamGary is supposed to accomplish but I love it.
