Rick Porcello and Max Scherzer are your 2016 Cy Young Award winners.

It was Porcello’s first time receiving the award. He bounced back from a rough 2015 campaign to deliver a 22-win season, stepping up as the Boston Red Sox’s ace. As for Scherzer, he won his first Cy Young award with the Detroit Tigers in 2013 when he and Porcello were teammates.

Another ex-teammate of theirs, Justin Verlander, was in the running for AL Cy Young award. Porcello edged him out despite Verlander receiving the majority of first-place votes. The Tigers ace was left off two ballots in favor of Zach Britton.

Porcello’s celebration with his family is must-watch stuff:

As for Verlander, well it isn’t clear how he’s taking the news of his loss. However, it’s crystal clear how his fiance√© feels about it.

Well, she has a point.
