The Chicago Cubs have finally done it. It took 108 years, but they finally won a World Series. And, of course, you know what that means, they get to be featured in this year’s World Series film. However, the Cubs have found a way to go completely over the top for the premiere of the film.

The film was premiered in the Civic Opera House in downtown Chicago last night, and I don’t think the highlights of the event could be any more cringe-worthy.

I get it, 108 years is a long time, but act like you’ve been there before, at least to a certain extent. To make this premiere a red carpet Hollywood-like event is such a power move. This charade better not last all winter.

I was all for the Cubs winning the World Series, but it’s becoming very clear why some people did not want them to win.
