Pretty much no surprises for the 2016 Heisman Trophy Finalists.  There might have been 1 or 2 who might not have deserved to get the nod to New York, but that’s what makes sports great. It can be discussed and argued.

Here are your 2016 Heisman Trophy Finalists

  • Lamar Jackson- Louisville
  • DeShaun Watson- Clemson
  • Jabrill Peppers- Michigan
  • Dede Westbrook- Oklahoma
  • Baker Mayfield- Oklahoma

Our college football writer should go into more extensive detail about each finalist later on today or this week.  I’m sure she’ll have a difference in opinion of who will win the Heisman because we have a difference in opinion to say the least.

Favorite: Lamar Jackson

He should win the Heisman. The dude had a video game like year. HOWEVER (*Stephen A Smith voice*, fuck that guy), he faltered at the end of the season losing 2 games they shouldn’t have lost and having declining numbers.

Sneaky Choice: Deshaun Watson

At the beginning of the season, he was the Cinderella.  Then Clemson had a rocky start to start the year off. Yes, they won their games for the most part, but they weren’t dominating them the way people expected. That put Deshaun Watson on the backburner for the time being. Say what you want about Clemson but they’ve been pretty consistent all year and unlike teams like Michigan or Ohio State, they did their job and won their conference championships. After the beginning of the season, Deshan Watson has quietly put up great numbers and also the Heisman committee  loves winners.

Probably Shouldn’t Have Been Invited To New York: Dede Westbrook

Don’t get me wrong, Dede was the best receiver in college football this year and he put up monster numbers. Every time I watched him it looked like he was getting 70 yard touchdown receptions. I just don’t see how he cracks the top 3 and if that’s the case he maybe shouldn’t have been invited. Baker Mayfield got 4th place last year and he was invited because the Heisman committee is a bunch of dickheads.

Prediction for Top 5

  1. Lamar Jackson
  2. Deshaun Watson
  3. Baker Mayfield
  4. Jabrill Peppers
  5. Dede Westbrook

People seem to agree with Deshaun Watson being the guy who could overthrow Lamar Jackson.
