As a Patriots fan, I’ll admit I was a bit apprehensive when the team traded for tight end Martellus Bennett. Ever since 2008, when the former Texas A&M star entered the NFL, Bennett has been portrayed as a bit of a primadonna akin to Terrell Owens or Randy Moss.
So when the troubled Tight End joined the Patriots this offseason I was a bit nervous, but I knew if any franchise could quell Bennett’s issues, it was going to be the Patriots. As we enter week 17, Bennett has fit into the Patriots organization perfectly and we haven’t heard one negative peep about Bennett’s attitude from Patriots beat reporters.
During Thursday’s locker room media session, some poor reporter brought up bacon and specifically Canadian bacon to Bennett. The Patriots Tight End then began to bloviate about the crispy pork product, and named every single food that could accompany his favorite food…which is bacon.
