Winnipeg Jets rookie Patrik Laine has been diagnosed with a concussion following a hit by Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe. The hit occurred in the open ice which insinuated a line brawl.
The second overall pick in this past year’s draft has come as advertised. He currently sits atop the rookie goal scoring with 37 points in 42 games. Also, he is tied with Toronto Maple Leafs center, Auston Matthews in goals scored with 21.

No timetable has been set for a return. In the meantime, his presence will be missed with the Jets sitting three points out of a wild-card playoff spot in the Western Conference.
This week, Winnipeg has Calgary, Montréal, and Arizona on their schedule.
