Hip Hop Dx: 50 Cent was all over Instagram on Wednesday afternoon pushing for Soulja Boy and Chris Brown to settle their recent beef in the ring, and now it looks like the fight might actually go down.

Thursday morning, he [Soulja Boy]  shared a clip of himself with his “trainer/big brother” Floyd Mayweather promoting the fight.

So this was discussed on this week’s Anything Goes, but until Justin informed me, I had no idea that Chris Brown and Soulja Boy were actually fighting on PPV. I thought it was all just a marketing ploy and they’d end up making music together or something. Turns out it was actually still a marketing ploy but they’ll be making bank in a celebrity boxing match.

This is why Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent are unorthodox business geniuses.  Chris Brown and Soulja Boy were ready to call it quits and Floyd/ 50 cent said no no no. Floyd is apparently training Soulja Boy and 50 Cent hired Mike Tyson to train Chris Brown. Do you know how much money these guys are going to make?

Me and my trainer/big brother @floydmayweather #TMT it's official!! 😈👊🏾

They’re playing chess while everyone else are playing checkers.

Quick Notes:

  • I don’t know what the line will be but Chris Brown has to be the favorite right? No way Chris Brown isn’t like a -150 kind of Vegas bet.  I’d put my money on him instantly. No question.
  • I love that the undercard consists of Kenyon Martin vs. Tim Thomas. No, not Bruins’ Tim Thomas but more like the NBA’s Tim Thomas. If you don’t remember who he is then watch below.

This might be ever a better fight in the end if we are being honest.
