A stunner: Chargers plan to announce as early as Thursday they are moving to LA, ending 55-year stint with SD, league sources tell ESPN.

WOW! Huge news out of the NFL last night. Adam Schefter is reporting that Chargers owner Dean Spanos has decided to move the team from San Diego to Los Angeles. This is partly because the Chargers couldn’t get a stadium deal done in San Diego, but let’s not forget how attractive LA is to NFL owners.
This is a sad day not just for San Diego NFL fans, but all NFL fans alike. I LOVED the Chargers. Growing up as a Patriots fan, the Chargers were that cool west coast team that’d always give the Patriots fits with the likes of Philip Rivers, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Antonio Gates. I know the fan support wasn’t always there in San Diego, but god dammit they loved their team. And don’t get me started on the powder blue jerseys that the Chargers wear during home games, those jerseys are a top-5 jersey in professional sports. I just find it baffling that a team would want to leave San Diego. The weather is great, the people are great, but I guess Los Angeles is too alluring to the powers that be. I understand the Rams moving from St. Louis, that’s a baseball city and the team originated from Los Angeles in the first place. I just for the life of me can’t understand this move for the NFL and the franchise at large.
Here is a video history of the San Diego Chargers, and for one last time “The San Diego Super Chargers say goodbye.”
