It’s a well known fact that Tecmo Bowl is one of the greatest games ever created. So when you combine it with the greatest Super Bowl ever played, the results are nothing short of superb.

As a fan of the Patriots, I will never get tired of watching the highlights. It doesn’t matter whether those highlights are in crystal clear high definition or retro 8-bit NES style. However, this Tecmo Bowl re-creation has a soft spot in my heart. It’s not everyday that two of my favorite things – Tecmo Bowl and the Patriots – join forces for an absolutely perfect 3 minutes and 29 seconds.

While we’re on the topic of Tecmo Bowl, I should let you know that I am lucky enough to possess a working NES. That means there are multiple games of the best football game ever created being played per week. I’ll take the classic NES games any day over the more recent gaming systems. This video was perfect for me to blog because it is obviously very well done, but it also gave me a chance to talk about how great the classic Nintendo actually was.

So, I’ll wrap this up with a power rankings of the best Nintendo games ever. If you wanna chat about the video or just NES in general, you can always find me on Twitter here.

NES Power Rankings:

  1. Tecmo Bowl
  2. RBI Baseball (these 2 are actually 1 and 1A)
  3. Punch-Out
  4. Super Mario Bros. 3
  5. Zelda
