It’s not all rainbows and butterflies for the Red Sox anymore.
David Price is seeing Dr. James Andrews after experiencing forearm discomfort and elbow soreness. Price had an MRI and will get a second opinion. In other words, it’s not looking so good for Boston’s prized lefty.

Startling news from Red Sox: David Price has elbow soreness. MRI results not in yet but Farrell concerned, expects Price to see Dr Andrews.

“Seeing Dr. James Andrews” is almost always code for “season-ending injury”. Of course, we have to wait and see what happens with the MRI results and Price’s second opinion. But this is well-worth freaking out about if you’re a Red Sox fan. The rotation that looked virtually unstoppable after adding Chris Sale suddenly looks vulnerable when you replace Price with Steven Wright, Eduardo Rodriguez or Drew Pomeranz.
You had to figure something like this would happen sooner or later. Everything was looking way too peachy in Boston. Life has a way of evening itself out.
We’ll update as soon as we hear more news on Price.
