Manny Machado reminded us all Thursday that he’s arguably the best defensive infielder in the game.

He made not one, but two insane plays for the Dominican Republic during their game against Canada.

If that was some no-name instead of Machado, those clips would be shared everywhere and talked about constantly. But since it’s Machado, everyone simply watched, said “yup, sounds about right,” and moved on. He’s unreal.

Machado isn’t just a world-class third baseman, either. He’ll do the same thing over at shortstop. That’s what gives him the slight edge, in my opinion, over third basemen like Nolan Arenado (another elite defensive player) and Kris Bryant. Versatility.
