An extremely scary moment occurred during Friday’s spring training game between the Blue Jays and Tigers.

Blue Jays relief pitcher T.J. House was hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of Tigers catcher John Hicks. Reports say the ball hit House’s facial area and caromed about 30 feet in the air.

House reportedly laid on the ground for several minutes before EMT’s took him off the field in a stretcher. He did give a thumbs up, which is always a good sign.

We’ll update with more info as it becomes available. For now, keep House in your thoughts. Hopefully it’s just a scare and nothing more.

UPDATE: House is expected to leave the hospital today and make a full recovery, per AP.
