Imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery, but it didn’t appear very flattering as LeBron James giggled and guffawed with his teammates while seeming to emulate Lonzo Ball’s unique shooting motion during warm-ups last night.

Engaging in a casual shootaround before the Cleveland Cavaliers played yesterday, LeBron decided to have some fun by performing the strange shooting style of UCLA guard Lonzo Ball, who recently declared for the 2017 NBA Draft.

James was involved in a public spat with Lonzo’s loudmouth father, LaVar, a few weeks ago after LaVar publicly predicted that LeBron’s kids would never be able to live up to their father’s reputation on the basketball court. LeBron then put LaVar in his place, telling him to “keep my kids’ names out of your mouth.” However, James made it known that he is a fan of Lonzo’s game, but maybe that was a lie.

James could pass this off as nothing more than him goofing off, but the swivel motion LeBron made with the basketball near his head is obviously an exaggerated imitation of Ball’s form. So maybe LeBron vs. Lonzo will be the next great NBA rivalry.

It’ll be interesting to see if Lonzo chooses to respond to LBJ’s mockery. It definitely wouldn’t be that hard to mock LeBron in return because that ’80s soccer mom outfit he’s got going on in that video is far from copacetic.
