On Wednesday, Masters favorite Dustin Johnson injured his back after falling down some stairs at his rental house. He is now questionable for the first major tournament of the year.

In a statement to Golf Digest, Johnson’s agent had this to say:

“At roughly 3:00 pm today, Dustin took a serious fall on a staircase in his Augusta rental home,” the statement read. “He landed very hard on his lower back and is now resting, although quite uncomfortably. He has been advised to remain immobile and begin a regimen of anti-inflammatory medication and icing, with the hope of being able to play tomorrow.”

It will obviously be terrible if Johnson is unable to play. He comes into the Masters on a hot streak, winning his last three events. The odds-makers had Dustin as the favorite at 5/1 to take home the green jacket.

Hopefully Johnson will recuperate before Thursday’s tee time. We will have updates as they become available.
