Devastating news coming out of Pittsburgh today, as Kris Letang, a top 8 defensman in the NHL will miss be out 4-6 months due to a herniated disk in his neck that’ll require surgery. Letang has missed a lot of time this year with injuries, but in the 41 games he played he was able to rack up 34 points. Letang has been the defensive anchor for years, and led the way to last years cup averaging a whopping 29 minutes of ice time per game to go along with 15 points in 23 games. This is especially brutal for Pittsburgh as they’re already down two very key defensmen in Olli Maatta and Trevor Daley. The hope is these two can get back soon, along with superstar center Evgeni Malkin, whose been out since mid March. Things are not looking good for a repeat in Pittsburgh right now…
