Stephen Piscotty left Tuesday night’s game against the Cubs after getting drilled by the baseball three times in one trip around the base paths.

The Cardinals outfielder’s pain started when he got hit in the elbow by a Jake Arrieta pitch. He then advanced to second base on a wild pitch and was drilled in the elbow again by Willson Contreras’ throw. As if that wasn’t already brutal enough, Piscotty was nailed in the head by Javy Baez’s throw when sliding into home plate.

Fortunately, Piscotty isn’t seriously injured. He was diagnosed with a contusion and will be re-evaluated Wednesday.

That wasn’t the only bizarre moment of Tuesday’s Cubs-Cardinals game, either. Adam Wainwright’s atrocious pitch gives Piscotty some competition in the “wtf?” moment of the day.
