The official teaser trailer for Super Troopers 2 was released on Monday. The sequel to the Broken Lizard’s cult classic is set to premiere on 4-20 (Get it?).
It has been 16 long years since the original movie – with a $1.2 million budget – hit the theaters. To say that this sequel has been highly anticipated is an understatement. Especially since the earnings for the first one reached $23 million. You can check out the newly released teaser trailer below:
As you may remember, a crowd-funding campaign was launched in order to make this sequel happen. The goal of that campaign was reached in just one day. The entire Broken Lizards troupe, as well as Brian Cox, are returning for the sequel.
Now, I’m going on the record as saying that I am all in on this sequel. Should I be at least a tad bit wary, seeing that comedy sequels almost certainly suck? Probably. But I’ll pay my ten dollars to see this in the theater nonetheless. It’s the least I can do for the Broken Lizard comedy team. The original movie helped me get through a lot of tough times. Like that one time I was hungover on the couch on a Sunday morning and too lazy to get up and grab the remote. Super Troopers was there for me, and kept me entertained long enough for me to forget about my crippling cocktail flu for a solid 100 minutes.
