NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup Series heads to one of my favorite tracks, Darlington Raceway, this weekend.

This race has huge playoff implications for a number of drivers, so expect an extra exciting one Sunday. Here are my betting picks…

*odds are according to Westgate Sportsbook

Sleeper Pick: Ricky Stenhouse (100/1)

Stenhouse has been fast in practice, and if you’re looking for a lottery ticket there’s no better value than him at 100/1.

Value Pick: Jimmie Johnson (20/1)

Any time you can get the seven-time champ at this value, I think you have to strongly consider taking it. Even though the last two years at Darlington haven’t been kind to him, Johnson has three career wins and a number of top 10s at The Lady In Black.

Two Safest Picks: Kyle Busch (7/2) & Kyle Larson (9/2)

Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson had the fastest cars in practice (surprise, surprise) and week after week are favorites to head down Victory Lane. Pick one of them to win if you’re not feeling lucky.

My Pick: Denny Hamlin (7/1)

Hamlin loves Darlington. In his 11-year career he’s never finished outside the top 20, and 9 out of those 11 races he’s had top 10 finishes  (including one win). Barring any mechanical issues, expect Hamlin to be out front for a good portion of the race.
