Ron Gardenhire will replace Brad Ausmus as manager of the Detroit Tigers.

Gardenhire managed the Minnesota Twins from 2002-14 and spent the 2017 season as bench coach of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He also was an interviewee for the open Red Sox managerial position.

The Tigers finished last place in the AL Central this season and are currently in a rebuilding phase, so leading the team to any sort of success in the near future won’t be an easy task for the 59-year-old.
