I’m not crying….I’m not crying….I’m not crying….
OK fine, I’m crying.
Brian Boyle scored his first goal as a New Jersey Devil on Thursday. More importantly, Boyle scored his first goal since being diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in September.

and the interview afterward…
Brian Boyle admits he cried after scoring first goal since returning from chronic myeloid leukemia. Pretty special. pic.twitter.com/4J4Py8SABt

“I’ve never cried after a goal before. It’s a lot. It’s everything. These guys, my wife, my kids, they’ve been through a lot too, my parents, my siblings, it’s a good feeling. Let’s hope we stand up and make it count tonight.”
I could watch these kinds of moments over and over and over again. Knowing how much it means not only to Boyle, but his entire family as it gives them all a reason to smile… it’s just so special.
Best wishes to Brian as he beats the shit out of cancer. Keep fighting both on and off the ice.
Fun fact: While I never officially met Brian’s brother Tim or his sister Gabrielle, I saw them around Endicott College quite often. I definitely brag every now about how I attended the same school as some of the Boyle family. Go Gulls.
