The Yankees just turned every other team’s worst nightmare into a reality by trading for Giancarlo Stanton.
Details of the trade haven’t been confirmed, but the Yankees are said to be dealing Starlin Castro and lesser prospects to the Marlins.

Stanton now joins Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez in the middle of what will be the most fearsome lineup in baseball for years to come. Stanton blasted 59 homers in Miami last season, Judge hit 52, and Sanchez hit 33. The Bronx Bombers are back to living up to their name, and that should petrify the rest of the American League.
Now that the Yankees are set to hit 3000 home runs in 2018, the focus shifts to how teams like the Red Sox will respond. Missing out on Stanton, Shohei Ohtani, and apparently Jose Abreu means Boston has no choice but to sign J.D. Martinez or Eric Hosmer. Hell, at this point, maybe even both of them. But whatever they do, you can bet they won’t be considered the favorites in the AL East.
We’ll be discussing the stunning Stanton trade in more detail soon on the Tater Talk podcast, so be sure to subscribe and stay tuned.
